Originally formed in 1962 as the Bloomingdale Area Chamber of Commerce by John Barrett, Al Magurno, Frank Wood,  Walter Reynolds, and John D’Angelo.  The original Chamber of Commerce set out to promote business in the Bloomingdale Area in the tradition of its motto of a “Proud Past, Pleasing Present,  and a Promising Future.  Upon its formation in 1962, there were a total of 290 businesses located in the Bloomingdale Area.

On October 2, 1984 chamber trustees Eugene Di Orio, Lorraine Gambert, Robert Potter, and Gerald Vinci filed a Certificate of Incorporation with the State of New Jersey under the name of the Bloomingdale Area Chamber of Commerce Charitable Fund, Inc.  The Certificate of Incorporation was filed by James La Sala, Attorney at Law who today remains an honorary Chamber of Commerce member with his office located in Riverdale, New Jersey.

On August 14, 1987 attorney James La Sala filed with the state of New Jersey a Certificate of Change of Name.  The new name of our corporation officially became the Tri-Boro Area Chamber of Commerce Charitable Fund, Inc.  We have continued to operate our Non-Profit Corporation under that name since then.

The officers for the year 2024 are Dan Gallagher – President,  Kevin Klemens – Vice President, Joseph LaPorta – Treasurer, and Cyndi Frank – Secretary.

The Trustees for the year 2024 are Lucille Brule’,  Kenneth Ginefra,  Kevin Doyle, and Gerald Vinci.

Currently, the Chamber of Commerce has over 70 members and we are continually growing.  Our area now has more than 2,000 businesses and our goal is to have as many businesses as possible join the chamber and help us support the four communities we serve.

Each year the chamber awards a scholarship to graduating high school students from Butler, Bloomingdale, Kinnelon, and Riverdale. The chamber also supports our local police, volunteer fire department, and volunteer ambulance squad.

Monthly meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at a location to be announced.  There are ten meetings per year as we do not meet during July and August.
